Grain production in Romania has tripled in the last 15 years, reaching at least 30 MTM annually, and the growth potential, under normal conditions, in the next 10 years is expected to double the quantities currently produced. 

Grain produced in Romania is the first of the agricultural year/season available for export, their harvest starting in Romania with approx. 1.5 months earlier than in the other Black Sea countries. Accessibility to Romanian grain is very easy, the production areas being located up to a maximum distance  of 500 km, from the shore of the Black Sea.

Grain production in Romania is much easier and less exposed to atmospheric risks than in other countries, due to:

- locations of cereal production areas on the 45th parallel in the Northern Hemisphere, optimal for grain production.

- the temperate-continental climate that allows for natural grain drying conditions and optimal harvesting conditions.

The Agricultural Legislation that regulates Grain Production in Romania does not allow the use of chemical substances harmful to human health.

Romanian grain meet without problems the quality conditions imposed by the regulations regarding the quality of grain imported into the European Union and Non-EU.
